The Siena Guild was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1948. Saint Catherine of Siena is the group's patron saint because she was a lay woman with a philosophy based on love of God and neighbor.
The Guild has two objectives which they still hold dear after all these years: first, to aid the
Glenmary Sisters in their spiritual and corporal works of mercy by prayer, work, sacrifice, and
financial support; and secondly, to help members live lives closer to God by giving them an
opportunity to help those in need.
